Our History

Blackbeard Books Ltd has been at the heart of equestrian book wholesaling for more than forty years. Established in 1982, we have built lasting relationships with saddleries, tack shops, riding schools and equestrian retailers across the United Kingdom.

Based in Hertford, Hertfordshire, we pride ourselves on offering one of the most comprehensive equestrian catalogues available to the UK trade.

What We Supply

We supply titles from Kenilworth Press, J.A. Allen & Co, David & Charles, Penguin, Harper Collins, Orion and many more, alongside the Monty Roberts Dually Halter, all from one place. We're always on the lookout for new titles from self-published authors and independent publishers too, so if you have something equestrian in print, get in touch.

Our catalogue covers every aspect of the equestrian world, from riding and training manuals to stable management guides, horse health references, BHS and Pony Club publications, equestrian biographies, and specialist disciplines including dressage, jumping, driving and showing.

We also stock the much-loved Threshold Picture Guides series — over 50 pocket-sized reference guides covering every aspect of horse care and riding — as well as fiction series for young readers.

Dually Halter Distributor

We are also a trade distributor of the Monty Roberts Dually Halter, the world's leading natural horsemanship training halter. Available in five sizes, the Dually is a must-stock item for any equestrian retailer.
